Day 17- September 10th

Kenron is changing so much every day. Each morning the nurses make goals for him so he can become bigger and stronger. Today's goal was to tolerate feedings and have a successful breast feeding. Those are pretty good goals for someone so tiny. We're grateful those are the worst things he is dealing with right now. They upped his feeding to 37 ml and are stilling adding 24 calories to his food. He will also get to breastfeed once per shift. He does fairly well with breast feedings but he gets really tired before he is able to get enough milk so they had to finish his feedings through the tube. He has done pretty good at keeping his own temperatures. A few times it became a little low but the nurses were able to fix it with warm blankets. He still gets to stay in his crib as apposed to an incubator. He is up to 4 lbs 5 oz. today and it's exciting to see him get bigger everyday. Dana was able to spend the entire day with him and get some one on one time. He loves visitors but he sure loves his mommy time more!
