Day 32- September 25th

Kenron had a long day today. His red blood count is down. Doctors say he doesn't need a blood transfusion right now but could need one in the next day or two. His stomach x-ray came back and showed no sign of an infection. One of the IV catheters got out of the vein and pumped the fluid into his hand. His had is swollen- nurses had to give him 5 different little shots to help dissolve the fluids. Both IV's in his wrists are bad. The nurses tried to give him an IV in his foot but were unable to get it and blew a vein- giving him a bruise. They were able to get an IV nurse to give him a good IV in his foot. He hasn't pooped anymore so we're still unsure if he is pooping blood. He is still getting his nutrients from IV's. He weighs 5 lb 5 oz today.

Day 31- September 24th

Kenron turned 1 month old today! Happy Birthday little guy!
He weighs 5 lb 4 oz. He is still unable to eat so he will be losing weight for the next little while. The doctors are giving him nutrients through IV's. The nurses commented that he seems to be getting better. He is on antibiotics just in case. The doctors haven't been able to get a good enough stool sample to run that test yet. All other tests have come back negative for any infections. Kenron was pretty fussy today. He made sure everyone knew he was hungry and wanted food. Early this morning he was moved into a crib with a radiant heater because they can't leave him bundled up with his IV's and all the xrays he's been needing. Uncle Anthony and Aunt Brit came to visit today.

Day 30- September 23rd

Kenron's MRI results came by today. They confirmed his head ultrasound's results showing he has level 1 bleeding. Todd was able to come back today and spend some time with him. He weighs 5 lb 5.5 oz today. Kenron had a poopy diaper today with a bit of blood in it. The doctors were a bit concerned so they ordered blood tests and xrays- both of which came back showing no problems. They have decided to hold his feedings for now to give his bowels a rest. The doctors are going to watch him closely for the rest of the day and re-evaluate in the morning.

Day 29- September 22nd

Kenron had to have an MRI done today. He had to be sedated to make sure he stood still. It's so sad to see him go through so many tests. The results are not back yet. He also had his hearing tests done today. He passed with no problems in both ears. He weighs 5 lb 4.75 oz.

Day 28- September 21st

Kenron got his head ultrasound results back today. It shows he is still at a level 1 bleeding. Which is normal. He had a pretty low key day today. He did great on all his feedings today. Took at least 50 ml in each of his bottles.

Day 27- September 20th

Kenron was back off his oxygen today. He was doing much better breathing on his own and the nurses don't think he will have to go back on. He did great with all his feedings today. He even got an extra feeding. Dana gave him his vitamins today but he spit most of them out. He doesn't like them much. He is up to 5 lb 3 oz today. Dana was able to give him his bath for the first time today. He was awake a lot today and loved spending time with Mommy. He loves when she brushes his hair. Kenron pulled his feeding tube out today. After he pulled it out the nurse told him "ok, but you have to be a big boy" she told Todd and Dana that since he has been doing all of his feedings by mouth they would keep the tube out as long as he continued to do well. He had his head ultrasound today to check the amount of bleeding on his brain (which is typical for premature babies- his last ultrasound showed his was at a level 1 which is low) the results aren't back yet. Kenron had 1 spell during the night. He was able to bounce back and is doing okay.

Day 26- September 19th

Kenron had a good day today. The doctors have decided to leave his feeding tube in for now but he is now considered Stage 3 where they offer by mouth feedings every time- if he doesn't take it then they will feed him from his tube. He has been doing pretty well with most of his feedings. He was kind of tired with a few of his bottles but did well for the most part. His reflux seems to be getting better and he weighs 5 lbs 2 oz. He had a little trouble keeping his stats up but they are watching him closely.
